MHEDS was honored with the prestigious silver designation from the American Heart Association Target BP program. This recognition underscores MHEDS’ commitment to promoting heart health and managing blood pressure effectively within the Erie community. To receive this award, the organization employed a multifaceted approach that includes the integration of state-of-the-art monitoring technology, comprehensive patient education, and community outreach.
Among the notable honors, MHEDS medical provider Cara Ferguson Moutsos, MSN, CRNP was honored with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and Human Services “Excellence in Refugee Medical Care” award. The award is given to health care providers who demonstrate exceptional care and services to the refugee population, focusing on aspects such as access to care, quality of medical services, cultural sensitivity, comprehensive support, and successful integration of refugee health needs into the broader health system. Cara’s efforts underscore MHEDS’ dedication to delivering exceptional care to refugees and displaced populations in the region.
Furthermore, Kristina Rudenko, a valued member of the MHEDS team, received one of the APEX Awards (Awards for Primary Care Excellence) for Career Achievement from the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers, the state’s primary care association supporting community health centers and promoting the mission to provide affordable, quality primary healthcare for all. This recognition highlights the dedication and expertise that MHEDS’ healthcare professionals bring to their vital roles in the community.
