Alivia Haibach, MPA, takes over as the new CEO of the organization.
Erie, Pa. – Multi-Cultural Health Evaluation Delivery System (MHEDS), Northwest PA’s one-stop healthcare services provider serving the multicultural community, proudly announces the appointment of Alivia Haibach, MPA, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Alivia, a respected leader in the Erie community, embodies MHEDS’s values of compassion, inclusion, and excellence. Her leadership marks the beginning of a new chapter in MHEDS’s storied history of health service among Erie’s diverse communities.

Alivia Haibach, a native of Erie, Pennsylvania, is an alumna of Allegheny College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa region in 2013. She furthered her education with a Master’s in Public Administration from Gannon University. Before joining MHEDS, Alivia was a Regional Manager at Welcoming America, where she developed inclusive policies and strategies promoting community belonging. She also contributed as the Health Equity Coordinator at the Erie County Department of Health, prioritizing the reduction of health disparities in historically marginalized communities. Alivia’s extensive international experience, including residencies in China, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, has enriched her perspective on the challenges of navigating healthcare systems in unfamiliar linguistic and cultural environments. In her new role, Haibach will address MHEDS’ immediate priorities, which remain increasing the operational and clinical capacity of the organization while identifying new sustainable growth opportunities.

MHEDS is the sole Pennsylvania Region 5 grantee for refugee health screens. The organization operates within Medically Underserved Areas (MUA) and Medically Underserved Populations (MUP), identified as geographic areas and populations lacking access to primary care services. Greater than 86% of MHEDS’ patient population is served in a language other than English, with patients originating from all over the globe, including Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bosnia, Burma (Myanmar), Congo, Ethiopia, India, Iraq, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, the United States, and U.S. Territories.
