Background:
Everyone above the age of 5 is eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Adults who received the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine at least 6 months prior, or the Johnson and Johnson at least 2 months, are also eligible for a booster.

The page contains information and data on the vaccine, as well as recommendations and directions for how to get a 5–11-year-old child vaccinated. Additionally, the site provides clinical resources for vaccine providers, clinical training and education, and a section dedicated to vaccine-related information for children with developmental disabilities.

Governor Tom Wolf’s website contains an article titled “Gov. Wolf Applauds CDC Approval of COVID-19 Vaccines for Children Ages 5 Through 11” serves as a press release containing Governor Wolf’s response to the vaccine approval. The Governor emphasizes the importance of this new level of protection provided to children, parents, teachers, doctors, and community members alike, and makes readers aware that most places adults can get vaccines now have vaccines available for children 5 and above. The article also affirms that the vaccine is safe, and it is recommended by the CDC ACIP that children 5 years and older can and should receive the COVID-19 vaccination provided parental consent.

The Philadelphia Inquirer has published a piece titled “COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics as Busy again as People Line Up for Pediatric Shots and Boosters in Pa. And N.J” which discusses the increase in vaccine clinic turnout with the recent approval of vaccines for children 5-11 as well as the booster shots for adults becoming available. The Article focuses on Pennsylvania and New Jersey but reflects a nationwide trend. Numerical data regarding pediatric vaccination in PA. And N.J. is also abundantly provided. There is a mention of the impending end of the national mask mandate in January at which time in school mask mandates will be left to local jurisdiction, which further emphasizes the need for children 5 and above to receive vaccination before this window closes for the safety of themselves and others.
