The event celebrated not only the start of construction on a new health center, but also MHEDS\u2019s sweeping expansion over the last 21 months\u2014including the opening of its Parade Street location, the appointment of a new Chief Medical Officer, and <strong>the launch of a capital campaign to fund a mobile medical unit <\/strong>that will deliver care directly into Erie County\u2019s most underserved neighborhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis new Buffalo Road location is more than a building, it\u2019s a promise,\u201d said Alivia Haibach, Chief Executive Officer of MHEDS. \u201cIt represents our unwavering commitment to bring equitable, community-based healthcare to families who need it most, right where they live.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since early 2024, <strong>MHEDS has doubled its clinical capacity<\/strong>, added new clinical and community health services. The Parade Street site alone has provided thousands of new patient visits in one of Erie\u2019s most underserved neighborhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur growth is guided by a single purpose, which is meeting people where they are,\u201d Haibach continued. \u201cFrom Buffalo Road to Parade Street, and soon through our mobile medical unit, MHEDS is breaking down barriers that have kept too many families from receiving healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The new mobile medical unit, announced as part of MHEDS\u2019s capital campaign<\/strong>, will extend primary care, preventive screenings, and education into rural and hard-to-reach areas across Erie County. The initiative reflects MHEDS\u2019s strategy to combine neighborhood-based clinics with mobile outreach that can deliver services directly to those who need them most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur mobile medical unit will extend the reach of MHEDS far beyond our walls,\u201d Haibach said. \u201cFrom main streets to farmhouses, we will meet people where they are, because healthcare access should never depend on a ZIP code.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a powerful show of community partnership, <strong>Golden Home Healthcare presented the first gift to the campaign, a $7,000 donation<\/strong> announced during the ceremony to help launch the Mobile Medical Unit initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGolden Home Healthcare is honored to support MHEDS in expanding access to care for families who need it most,\u201d stated Prakash Timsina, Office Administrator of Golden Home Healthcare. \u201cWe see firsthand how distance, transportation, and cost keep too many people from the care they deserve.
