Alivia, a respected leader in the Erie community, embodies MHEDS&#8217;s values of compassion, inclusion, and excellence. Her leadership marks the beginning of a new chapter in MHEDS&#8217;s storied history of health service among Erie&#8217;s diverse communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It gives me great pleasure to welcome Alivia Haibach as our new CEO, as we usher in a new chapter at MHEDS,&#8221; remarked Dylanna Grasinger, Board Chair of MHEDS. &#8220;Alivia&#8217;s profound commitment to service and her comprehensive approach to leadership are exactly what MHEDS needs at this moment. She furthered her education with a Master&#8217;s in Public Administration from Gannon University. Before joining MHEDS, Alivia was a Regional Manager at Welcoming America, where she developed inclusive policies and strategies promoting community belonging. She also contributed as the Health Equity Coordinator at the Erie County Department of Health, prioritizing the reduction of health disparities in historically marginalized communities. Alivia&#8217;s extensive international experience, including residencies in China, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, has enriched her perspective on the challenges of navigating healthcare systems in unfamiliar linguistic and cultural environments. In her new role, Haibach will address MHEDS\u2019 immediate priorities, which remain increasing the operational and clinical capacity of the organization while identifying new sustainable growth opportunities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I am deeply honored to step into the role of CEO at MHEDS, an organization whose mission resonates so closely with my own values and experiences,\u201d said Alivia Haibach, CEO of MHEDS. \u201cAlongside our dedicated team, I am eager to address the needs of our communities by delivering essential health services and support. Our approach to care will continue to be inclusive and culturally sensitive, ensuring we uphold the highest standards of excellence.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MHEDS is the sole Pennsylvania Region 5 grantee for refugee health screens. The organization operates within Medically Underserved Areas (MUA) and Medically Underserved Populations (MUP), identified as geographic areas and populations lacking access to primary care services. Greater than 86% of MHEDS&#8217; patient population is served in a language other than English, with patients originating from all over the globe, including Afghanistan, Bhutan, Bosnia, Burma (Myanmar), Congo, Ethiopia, India, Iraq, Mexico, Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Ukraine, the United States, and U.S. Territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ABOUT MHEDS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Multi-Cultural Health Evaluation Delivery System\u2019s (MHEDS) mission is to enable all who wish to achieve complete mental, physical, and social well-being by providing equitable, culturally sensitive, patient-centered health care, regardless of their ability to pay. MHEDS is Northwest PA\u2019s one-stop healthcare service provider serving Erie\u2019s multicultural community with holistic healthcare at two locations in Erie. As a Federally Qualified Health Center System Look-Alike, MHEDS meets rigorous compliance standards that ensure its patients continually receive high-quality, equitable care. Nearly 86% of MHEDS patients speak a native language other than English, including Nepali, Arabic, Swahili, Ukrainian, Russian, or Spanish.
