Your healthcare provider should prescribe treatments used for COVID-19. People have been seriously harmed and even died after taking products not approved for COVID-19, even products approved or prescribed for other uses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What If You Are Sick?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
  • Stay home.<\/strong> Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness and can recover at home without medical care. Do not leave your home, except to get medical care. Do not visit public areas.<\/li>
  • Take care of yourself.<\/strong> Get rest and stay hydrated. Take over-the-counter medicines, such as acetaminophen, to help you feel better.<\/li>
  • Cover your cough and sneezes<\/strong> with a tissue, or use the inside of your elbow.<\/li>
  • Wash your hands<\/strong> often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.<\/li>
  • Stay in touch with your doctor.<\/strong> Call before you get medical care. Be sure to get care if you have trouble breathing, or have any other emergency warning signs, or if you think it is an emergency.<\/li>
  • As much as possible, stay in a specific room <\/strong>and away from other people and pets in your home.<\/li>
  • If you have symptoms of COVID-19, get tested. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    When to seek emergency medical attention<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    • Trouble breathing<\/li>
    • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest<\/li>
    • New confusion<\/li>
    • Inability to wake or stay awake<\/li>
    • Pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds, depending on skin tone<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
