Dear Friends,
Across Erie County, too many people are still separated from essential healthcare by distance.
For a family living 20 or 30 miles from the nearest doctor, a routine appointment can require missing work, arranging childcare, and finding transportation. For seniors, migrant workers, and families navigating language or cultural barriers, that distance can feel even greater.
When care is too difficult to reach, people often go without it until there’s a crisis.
At MHEDS, we believe access to healthcare should never depend on where you live. That’s why we launched Meeting You Where You Are, a campaign to fund and deploy a Mobile Medical Unit that will bring trusted care to rural and underserved communities across Erie.
This clinic on wheels will allow MHEDS to move care beyond the walls of our health centers. It will bring primary care, preventive screenings, health education, and trusted support directly to the people and places that need them most.
But this vision is only possible with the support of our community.
This Erie Gives Day, we are asking you to help MHEDS take healthcare on the road. Your donation will move us closer to our $350,000 goal and help equip the Mobile Medical Unit to serve families who have waited too long to be seen.
A gift of $50 helps stock essential medical and hygiene supplies. A $250 gift helps provide diagnostic tools and testing equipment for community visits. Gifts of every size help us build a future where geography, transportation, language, and income no longer determine whether someone receives the care they need.
Erie has always shown what is possible when neighbors come together around a shared purpose. Erie Gives is our opportunity to turn that generosity into greater access, earlier care, and healthier lives.
Support MHEDS this Erie Gives Day and help us bring care closer – one donor, one mile, and one patient at a time.
With gratitude,
Alivia Haibach
